Laumeier Sculpture Park in Sunset Hills, Missouri is 105-acres and features 60 sculptures, walking trails, and learning programs. The free to the public open air sculpture park also has an indoor gallery and an 1816 Tudor stone mansion that was the former home of Matilda and Henry Laumeier.
The first 76 acres was left to St. Louis County in Matilda’s will as a memorial to her deceased husband, Henry. The park did not attract many visitors upon its opening in 1976 but one year later sculptor Ernest Trova donated about 40 pieces of his work to the park making it a popular tourist attraction.
